LWV Guides

We just received an update from the League of Women Voters of Houston that they expect the Houston Voters Guides to be ready for delivery by the middle of next week  (10/26).

We know that many of you have received queries from your customers who are eager to get the guides. Here are a few recommendations you can give to start their research:

Direct them to our Go Vote page: http://houstonlibrary.org/go-vote   
The site has links to download your local ballot, know your voting rights, find your polling stations for Early Voting (Oct. 24^th-Nov 4^th), and more.

The League of Women Voters Guides for Texas are available online in both English and Spanish.

Candidate info for the office of the President and various Texas state officials are available on this guide.

 Show them how they can download their sample local ballot on the National LWV site. 
Go to www.vote411.org, enter in your address, and you will see all the races that should appear on your ballot. For each race, the site talks through the duties of each office that is up for election, and includes statements from the candidates.
